Scottish Highland Cattle

Highlands are a central part of our farm. We started with 10 cattle in 2021 and now fluctuate between 15-20 head. Our goal is to have 10 registered breeding cows, which translates to a maximum herd size of around 35, accounting for calves and steers which we raise for meat.

All of our beef is entirely pasture and grass-fed using hay from our farm or other local farms that are either certified organic, or are managed in similar ways, including absolutely no glyphosate or pesticide sprays. We do not finish our animals on corn/grain. Our calves are weaned at approximately 6 months of age.

Scottish Highland Cattle are recognized as one of the oldest registered breeds in the world. Known for their resiliency and personality, they are a cherished part of any farm.
